Kostas, MPH, RD, LD is an award-winning, nationally recognized
nutrition and diet expert. She
is a registered dietitian, public
speaker, author, nutrition
consultant, diet counselor,
and media spokesperson.

2007, The American Dietetic Association honored Georgia
with the Medallion Award,
the highest award it confers, for her advancement
of the nutrition profession and
her innovative preventive cardiology and weight loss

In
2006, Georgia was named Distinguished Dietitian of the
Year by the Texas
Dietetic Association. For 25 years, Georgia served as
Founder and Director of Nutrition at the world-renowned
Cooper Clinic in Dallas, TX, diet counseling over 30,000
individuals.

Georgia's specialties include healthy eating, weight loss,
heart health, prevention, wellness, and sports nutrition.
Georgia serves as a nutrition consultant to numerous organizations,
corporate wellness programs, the media and restaurants.
An energetic and enthusiastic nutrition speaker, Georgia
has presented nutrition and wellness talks to professionals, corporate wellness groups, and the public.
She is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA),
the American Dietetic Association Foundation (scholarship
committee), Texas Dietetic Association (board of directors
2005-2006), Dallas Dietetic Association, and several ADA
specialty practice groups - Sports, Cardiovascular, and
Wellness Nutritionists, Weight Management dietitians, Dietitians
in Business and Communications, Nutrition Entrepreneurs,
and Food & Culinary Professionals. She is also a member
of Les Dames d'Escoffier.
Publications and Media
Georgia has authored numerous books, including: The
Cooper Clinic Solution to the Diet Revolution: Step Up to
the Plate, The Balancing Act Nutrition and
Weight Guide, The Guilt-Free Comfort Food Cookbook and What's
Cooking at the Cooper Clinic. She contributed nutrition
chapters to four books by Dr. Kenneth Cooper and to Renie
Steve's Ft. Worth is Cooking! Health professionals
use her healthy eating teaching handouts and nutrition
and weight loss guidebook with classes and individuals.

Georgia is frequently quoted in popular print media such
as Reader's Digest, Woman's World, Shape, Fitness,
Men's Health, Good Housekeeping, First, Prevention, and Better Homes & Gardens. She has been a guest on over 100 radio and television programs, and teaches nutrition
in Mike Ditka's video "Straight from the Heart" (1989)
and the American Heart Association's video titled
"An Active Partnership for the Health of Your Heart,"
(2004).
Education and Awards
Georgia received the ADA's "Sports and Cardiovascular
Nutritionists' Achievement Award" in 1990 and the "Young
Dietitian of the Year" from Texas in 1981. She completed
a bachelor's degree in Biology from Rice University, a master's
degree in Public Health Nutrition from Tulane University
School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and dietetic
residency at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans.
